Strawberry Surprise Muffins

6 Tbs. butter (I used 5 Tbs. plus 1 Tbs. applesauce)
2 eggs
14 strawberries, mashed
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 cups flour (I used 1 1/2 cups white and 1/2 cup whole wheat)
1 Tbs. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
12 Hershey's Kisses (if you don't have any, 1 cup of chocolate chips)

Cream the butter and sugar, then mix in the eggs, milk, and strawberries. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder and stir them in with the strawberry mixture. If you don't have Hershey's Kisses, now is the time to mix in the chocolate chips.
Grease muffin tins, fill halfway, put a Kiss in, then top with more batter (that's the "surprise"). Bake 20-25 minutes at 350F.


I had extra batter, so I put it in a greased bread pan and made a little flat loaf. This took about 30 minutes to be done.
