Asparagus Peas

These are neither peas nor are they asparagus.  They are asparagus peas, an entirely different vegetable.

I thought they looked like something interesting to try growing this year and I am very glad that I did.  Although the plants aren't producing like crazy (yet), these little veggies are incredibly tasty.  Steamed for about 3-5 minutes, then mixed with a little butter, I think they taste rather like asparagus hearts.
