Asparagus Fries and Crispy Corn Cakes

Here we have a couple of things that looked really good on the blogs where I saw them, but which did not turn out all that great in the end.

With the crispy corn cakes, it may have been that I used corn frozen from the garden rather than fresh corn...


The asparagus fries were just not very exciting. Kind of dry and I didn't like them with bread crumbs.



I think I will stick with plain old steamed asparagus and my dad's famous asparagus salad recipe.
