Dad's Chex Mix

Every winter, my dad makes this special party mix to enjoy on bird watching trips and during Christmas and New Year's celebrations. It sounded good to me the other day when the weather started getting cooler, so I decided to make some out of season!


Ingredients:
2 12-oz boxes of Crispix or Chex cereal
About 1 cup each of almonds and cashews

Heat the following in a saucepan until the butter melts:
4 Tbs. butter
4 Tbs. olive oil
7 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbs. garlic salt
2 Tbs. lemon juice

Divide the cereal into two 9x13" pans.
Drizzle 1/3 of sauce on Chex and nuts, and bake at 300 F for 15 minutes. Take out, stir, add 1/3 more of the sauce and bake 15 more minutes. Take out, stir, and add last 1/3 of sauce. Bake about 45 more minutes mixing every 15 minutes. Try to let it cool before you eat any!
