John Calvin's Strawberry Cake

Yesterday was John Calvin's birthday. Despite the fact that I am most definitely not a die-hard Calvinist, I am amused by celebrating funny things like Calvin's birthday or Guy Fawkes day.


Since I work on a strawberry farm, I have been enjoying the wonderful strawberries during this short season. So with the combination of strawberries and John Calvin's birthday, I thought it was a good time to bake a cake.
I searched around and found lots of interesting recipes. But I ended up using the recipe from here. Except of course, I used strawberries rather than raspberries and I doubled the recipe then divided the batter between a 7"x11" pan and a bread pan.


Happy (belated) birthday, John Calvin.
I am very thankful that God made strawberries.
