Sushi
Homemade raw fish-less sushi is really not terribly hard to make, especially when you have four people working on it all at once. Of course, when there are six people eating, you have to make more, but it is worth the effort. On this day, Anthony and I were cooking with my sister and her boyfriend. We had lots of fun as you can see.
First you make rice and chop up all the ingredients. We made California rolls with cucumber, avocado, and fake crab. Then we made others with various mixtures of cucumber, avocado, fake crab, egg (made like an omelet, then sliced into strips), sweet pepper, and asparagus (cooked in a little olive oil).
Spread a thin layer of rice on the seaweed, put a strip of filling on one end, then roll it all up into a tight tube.
Slice the tubes into little pieces and you have beautiful sushi:
And look how happy we were once we got to sit down to eat the sushi!
