Snickerdoodles

Snickerdoodle cookies somehow remind me of my childhood, maybe as one of the possible German foods my family made.


Since I had cream of tartar and I wanted to bake cookies, this came up. You can find the recipe on p.829-230 of "Joy of Cooking."

And if you need an egg substitution,
2 Tbs. water + 1 Tbs. oil + 2 tsp. baking powder
Has been very effective for me in cookies.

They were good, but I have decided that I prefer cookies that don't flatten out like this because I like very soft, nearly unbaked cookies :)
