Fried Biscuits

Anthony and I love the way that people here call cookies “bis-quits” (with that pronunciation). Well, I made some biscuits, but they were the bread kind, not the cookie kind. They turned out amazingly well for cooking on a stovetop. I used the skillet this time, with the following recipe:
Combine:
2 cups flour
1 Tbs. baking powder
½ tsp salt
Cut in 5 Tbs. shortening
¾ cup milk

Roll out dough to ½ inch thickness, cut into circles, and fry on a greased and covered skillet over low heat. Flip over when one side is browned (it took about 5 minutes), then cook the other side.

They made for tasty egg sandwiches!
