Interesting Meals
For fun, Anthony and I occasionally order take out roasted pork and chips from a nearby pork joint:
Another time, we made these great homemade gyoza (pot stickers) - labor-intensive, but definitely worth it:
Also labor intensive: homemade mutton meatballs. First, the meat had to be bought, chopped into chunks (removing bits of bone and gristle - thank you Anthony), and processed into ground meat (thank you friends who have a meat grinder!):
After that, making the meatballs:
Mutton Meatballs:
1 onion, finely chopped
2 pounds ground mutton (it ended up being less than this for us, after removing bones and gristle)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
1/4 cup fresh, chopped parsley
1 tsp. fresh, chopped oregano
1 Tbs. olive oil
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
Mix everything together and form tablespoon-sized balls. Roll each one in flour before frying in olive oil.
Finally enjoying them:
