Carrots and Radishes

I've had really great success growing radishes in the cool climate here in Kenya.  Also, I have a very cool variety - watermelon radishes - which are white on the outside and red on the inside.


One of our favorite ways to enjoy radishes is to fry them up with carrots in sesame oil and soy sauce.  It is really simple, but very tasty.

Get equal amounts of carrots and radishes.  Cut them into circles and fry them in about a tablespoon of sesame oil.  Once they are mostly cooked, add in a couple tablespoons of soy sauce.  Saute a little longer until there isn't any liquid left in the pan.

  1. That is really pretty! I have had those radishes in California, but didn't have much luck growing them here. The pill bugs got to them and they chewed holes in all the radishes:( That is a colorful dish!
