Ostrich egg

One day, we got a call from our neighbor asking when we needed our ostrich egg.  After some minutes of confusion, we figured out that yet another neighbor had suggested to the one on the phone that he obtain an ostrich egg for us.

So huge:

I had to use a knife as a chisel to break this hole in the end of the egg:

Then, I stuck a fork inside and scrambled it up before we poured it out into the pan:

Although it tasted similar to chicken eggs, the white looked almost gelatinous when it was cooked, so I probably overcooked it in trying to make sure it was fully done.

It fed me and Anthony and my parents for three breakfasts!
