Food in Kenya
Since we've been in Kenya, we've eaten some different food than we did in Uganda as well as the local food we have come to expect.
In Nairobi, there is pretty much any food you could possibly want. I belatedly remembered that I should be taking food pictures, so I didn't get a picture of the fast food pizza (with barbecue chicken on it). However, here is the bruchetta from our guest house:
We also went out for Chinese food with another World Renew person. Here's some really tasty fried okra:
One day, Anthony got a sandwich and I got Kenyan-style stew with chapatti.
We bought roasted maize on our drive to Nakuru. It was some of the best we've ever had. And we've eaten a lot of roasted maize.
(Don't worry, Anthony wasn't actually driving at this point - we parked to eat)
Here are some beans and whole wheat chapatti:
Liver and chips:
This isn't a super exciting meal (an egg sandwich with tea), but the veggies were too pretty not to show off.
Finally, our first meal in our new house! Broccoli and cauliflower (couldn't get those in Uganda, so it's pretty exciting to have them in Kenya) and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
